Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a Spanish speaking country in Central America, located between Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south.  Costa Rica is one of the most tourist friendly countries in the world.  Costa Rica is geologically active with periodic volcanic eruptions.  Costa Rica permanently abolished its army in 1949 and is known for very progressive environmental policies.  Costa Rica has a very high percentage (25%) of protected land and over 840 species of birds have been recorded there.
