Birds of a blue color are some of my favorite birds. I especially like the little blue heron. This bird is a medium sized heron that nests in swamps in sub-tropical locations from Gulf states in the United States to Central America and northern South America down to Peru and Uruguay. The little blue heron nests contain three to seven light blue eggs. Young little blue herons are nearly all white and they often can be found with groups of great egrets where their white color blends in. Little blue herons eat fish, frogs, crustaceans, small rodents and insects.
